You know what I love most about September? It’s that incredible fresh-start energy. While everyone else is obsessing over January resolutions that fizzled out by February, September quietly shows up with this brand new chance. I know you feel it too….
Maybe it's the crisp morning air, or the anticipation of just getting some peace and quiet in the house. There's something about this time of year that just feels like possibility, doesn't it?
I was talking to a client this week who said, "I keep waiting for the right moment to focus on myself again." And honestly? I get it. Summer can be a bit of a write-off. And here in Ontario, summer is short and sweet and oh-so-precious, I just want to bask in all of it. How many times have we told ourselves we'll start when life calms down, when work isn't so crazy, I’ll start Monday, or when the kids need us less.
But here's what I've learned after working with women in midlife who felt exactly like you to right now: that "perfect" moment doesn't exist. What does exist is this September energy we're feeling right now.
The women who finally get control of their perimenopause symptoms, who lose the belly fat, who start feeling energized instead of exhausted, who learn to love what they see in the mirror again - all have one thing in common:
They stopped waiting.

I’ve shared these heavy duty packing bags before and have ordered a few more. They are terrific for sending kids to college with all their gear. I use them to put away camp equipment, beach towels, even ski gear and out of season clothing.
READING. Just downloaded Everyone is Lying To You, by Jo Piazza. I am excited to dive in. It’s about a Ballerina Farms-esque woman who is accused of murdering her husband.
SHOPPING. I’m training for my first 5K run since having kids! I used to run a ton - but in the punishing kind of way. This time around, I’m doing it with my daughters and am excited to just be participating. I needed to refresh my runners, so have ordered these and am picking up a few new, more supportive sports bras.
WATCHING. Hostage on Netflix. I was OBSESSED! I binged half the season in one night!
