Hello, Hello, Happy Sunday and where did May go?! Can you believe that it’s JUNE? I am not sure if it’s the chilly weather or the just that I’m a cliché but I cannot believe June is here. I am SO ready for summer.
Can I share something personal? I used to believe that going into menopause meant fading into the background.
I thought opportunities would dry up.
That I’d struggle to keep up with younger women.
That my body, my ambition, even my relevance would quietly slip away.
And I did feel like that for a bit. But when 40 arrived, something surprising happened.
It woke me up.
Instead of being a countdown to irrelevance, my 40s became a decade of clarity, confidence, and freedom.
I stopped chasing things that didn’t matter.
I let go of guilt, people-pleasing, and trying to shrink myself to fit old roles.
I stopped surviving and started thriving—and it all began when I gave myself permission to unlearn what wasn’t serving me.
If you’re in your 40s (or even your 50s and beyond), here are 4 things to let go of ASAP for a more fulfilling, stress-free life:
1. Saying Yes to Things You Secretly Hate
Most women identify as people-pleasers—and if you’re a woman, that pressure can feel constant.
But saying yes out of guilt or obligation drains your energy and builds silent resentment.
Your time is precious. Protect it like it matters. Protect it like it’s currency—because it does and it is.
2. Obsessing Over What Others Think
Here’s a secret: people aren’t thinking about you as much as you think they are.
That’s called the spotlight effect, and it keeps way too many smart, capable women playing small.
Stop waiting for permission. You are allowed to take up space.
3. Wearing Stress Like a Badge of Honor
Busyness has become a weird form of status—but let’s be real: chronic stress isn’t a flex. It’s a health risk. ESPECIALLY in midlife.
Your worth is not measured by how exhausted you are.
Let’s normalize working smarter, resting often, and living in alignment—not overdrive.
4. Ignoring Your Health
In your 20s, you could get away with late nights and bottomless mimosas.
But midlife needs a different rhythm. Your hormones, muscle mass, metabolism, and mood all shift—and your daily habits matter more than ever.
Focus on simple, consistent upgrades: sleep, strength, protein, fiber, hydration, movement.
Small shifts = big changes.
Here’s the truth:
Midlife isn’t a crisis. It’s a calling.
And you get to answer it with strength, wisdom, and a new kind of power.
If you're ready to stop spinning your wheels and figure out what's really behind your symptoms, I’d love to help you get started.

I want my summer to sounds like this playlist:
Some things you didn’t ask for (but might enjoy)...
HABITS. Habit Stacking Science
SCROLLING.
LISTENING. The Gap and the Gain, but Dan Sullivan and Ben Hardy. I got this book on audible and enjoy the teaching but it was long. Moral of the story: Focus on the progress you've made and not on your goal. It will make you happier and more successful.
READING.
SHOPPING. This might be my favourite Amazon find. You plug something into the outlet (like a Christmas tree or yard lights) and you place the switch anywhere you like. Makes it sooo much easier! It would be perfect for a child’s room if the light isn’t near their bed.
WATCHING. 35 of summer’s most anticipated shows. I love a good series binge!
Last weekend when it was terribly cold and wet, the girls, Fras and I all snuggled in to re-watch Notting Hill.
FOOD. Everybody needs a go-to salad dressing. This one is mine.
Kale is in season and this is my favourite kale salad.
Ina Garten’s Garden Summer Pasta. This screams summer to me. Bookmark this one for when we get some warmth and can dine al fresco.
If you need some meal inspiration to help you hit your protein and fiber goals (a key component of my 30-30-30 method) download my free 5-Day Meals that Fuel Midlife Meal Plan. It’s totally free and the meals are simple, delicious and will set you up for a week of easeful eating.
That’s it for me this Sunday morning. Thank you for reading and continuing to support this newsletter ❤️ Fill me in on what you’re up to and what you’d like to see more of. xoC
